This method of testing is applicable to other fields of investigation such as draw hooks, material handling vehicles, rope clamps, machines. 

Stripping strength of plastic joints
The socket and collar junction of two lengths of plastic tubes is tested for its tensile strength.
The collar is electrowelded to the tube (an electric resistance placed in the collar causes the plastic to melt locally).
Tube ends are closed with a tight cap; the whole assembly is under internal pressure.

Compression test
Bales of dried solid domestic waste wrapped into polyethylene foil were tested for their compression strength. The recorded values are an indication of the maximum number of layers that can be placed one on top of the other.

The mechanical strength of the assembly and the internal pressure are monitored throughout the application of the tensile stress.
Maximum load coincides with the first signs of permanent deformation of the plastic material, while constant load produces a marked elongation of the test specimen.

Stripping strength of end  fixings
End fixings are tightened to the portion of a rope having the same design and structure as the rope for which they are intended and placed into the testing machine.

Nuts are fastened with a dynamometric key and thereupon the tensile stress is applied to the extremity of the end fixing and progressively increased until the end fixing starts to slip.

Determination of mass of zinc or alloy zinc coating on steel wire and wire products.The mass of coating shall be determined using a gravimetric method (UNI EN 10244-2).
